Faculty Of Geography First Year Students See Joseph Schiro’s Collection Of Maps 2017

Every year, first-year students following an undergraduate degree course in Geography are usually taken to the National Museum of Fine Arts where they can see the Albert Ganado Map Collection and are shown around by the Curator of the Cartographic Collection, Bernadine Scicluna. However owing to the fact that the collection was inaccessible to the public because of the imminent move to the new MUZA premises at the Auberge d’Italie in Valletta, the students were instead invited to see the Joseph Schirò Collection at his residence on 18 December, where they learned about the relevance and value of cartographic prints, manuscripts and engraved copper plates.
