On 29 February, 2024 there was the book launch of the Festschrift Custos Divitiarum in honour of Joseph Schirò which was held at the National Library of Malta in Valletta. The event was very well-attended and the speakers were James Licari, the President of the Malta Association of Professional Conservator-Restorers, who took the initiative to honour Joseph Schirò with a Festschrift, Ms Maroma Camilleri, the Deputy Librarian of the National Library, Ms Lindsay Buttigieg, a conservator-restorer of paper, books and photographs, Charles Farrugia, the National Archivist who did the editing of the book, and finally Joseph Schirò who thanked all those present and all the 36 contributors to his Festschrift for their very well-researched articles. Proceedings were in the able hands of Joseph Mizzi, director of the publishing house Midsea Books, who did the introductory speech.
