  Lt Cdr John Blake gave a public lecture entitled Here be Monsters: How the Sea Chart and Navigational Maps shaped our World in the Music Hall at St James Cavalier on Monday 2 October 2013 at 6.30 p.m.

Dr Albert Ganado, Joseph Schirò and Claude Micallef Attard present a copy of the catalogue The Brocktorff Mapmakers to H.E. the President Dr George Abela at San Anton Palace on 5th April, 2013.

H.E. President Emeritus Dr Ugo Mifsud Bonnici officially opens ‘The Brocktorff Mapmakers’ exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta on Friday 30th November 2012.  

  Dr Nick Kanas, member of the Washington Map Society and Professor Emeritus at the University of California, San Francisco, delivers a lecture on Celestial Cartography from Ancient to Modern Times at St James Cavalier Valletta on Monday 8th October 2012.      

The first Map Day was held in the Laparelli Room at the Excelsior Hotel, Floriana on Sunday 27th May 2012 from 10.00am—12.00p.m.

22-25 September 2011 The Malta Map Society hosted The International Map Collectors’ Society (IMCoS) Malta International Symposium which was held on 22-25 September 2011. See page covering IMCoS Malta Symposium.

On 23 September 2011 the Hon. Min. Dr Mario Demarco officially opened the German Maps of Malta exhibition at the Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa mounted specially for the occasion of the 2011 IMCoS Malta International Symposium organised by the Malta Map Society. To commemorate the 2011 IMCoS Malta Symposium, MaltaPost issued a special cancellation stamp with the words MALTAPOST—PHILATELIC BUREAU—MALTA in a circle and with the logo of The Malta Map Society and IMCoS International Symposium at the centre.  

The sub-committee for the Helen Wallis Award of IMCoS unanimously selected Dr Albert Ganado as the 2011 recipient for the prestigious Helen Wallis Award, in recognition for his varied contributions to cartography which have earned him the respect of academics and collectors worldwide.
